In another, nothing but EZdrummer and one other audio track works. which is weird because that one track has just as many plugins and automation as any of the others, but it's the only one that decides to work. In one track everything (MIDI instruments, audio tracks, EZdrummer, VSTs.) isn't playing, but ONE audio track is.

What's weird is that the damage done to each track seems to differ completely from the next, for example: Yeah I've tried removing EZdrummer, nothing improved there either.
CUBASE 5 PROJECTS DRIVERS
I've also tried using some of the ASIO drivers which hasn't really helped. As for the buffer (rate?) change, yeah it's as it should be for my setup, but I tried changing it around nonetheless, to no avail. Well I've experienced unexpected sample rate changes before, they sure can be confusing and a little scary, but this definitely isn't the same problem here, as the files which it does decide to play (almost at random) it plays at the correct pitch, quality etc. I hope I've given you enough information, I just really, really hope somebody can help me with this, I'm so confused and really worried that the damage is irreversible.
CUBASE 5 PROJECTS WINDOWS 7
I'm running Windows 7 64bit, intel i7 with 6GB ram. I'm using a Focusrite saffire 6 USB which has never played up once or caused any issues with recording & playback. I've been using Cubase 5 for a year now with no problems.

I can play them back just fine using VLC or windows media, but Cubase dosn't seem to recognise them anymore. I've gone into where my original audio files are stored and they're all there. But then, I'll reload it, and it'll play just the audio guitar track, it's crazy! How could one mistake effect all the projects I have?! For example, on a track with about 14 different layers, both MIDI and audio, it'll play the midi strings file. The really spooky thing is, it's playing some tracks, but not others. I tried mixing down a few projects to see if it'll still play them, with no success it seems it's just, stopped reading them for something. I've even scanned my computer for viruses! Anything, I have no idea what happened, but I'm loosing so much work if I can't recover these projects. I've tried repairing the cubase 5 installation, still nothing. I've unistalled and reinstalled my Focusrite saffire 6 usb driver, still nothing. I've checked to see in all my device connections are as they should be, and they are, nothing's changed. Then, as I decided to restart C5 I was shocked to discover that barely anything would playback in every single project I have! Nothing I did could get it back so I deleted that duplicated track, still nothing. Today whilst working on one of 12 tracks forming a project which I have been working on for about a year now, I tried duplicating a track running the EZdrummer vst and suddenly ALL the audio just dropped out for both the EZdrummer tracks. I would recommend that you spend that little bit of one-off preparation time and save yourself time later on – you’ll certainly appreciate it should you need to start recording at a moment’s notice.Hi, I'm brand new on the forum so I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place. If you spend a few minutes preparing Cubase and creating presets for most of the typical projects that you work on, these assorted shortcuts can save precious creative time when the muse strikes. To speed things up and to provide you with the templates to immediately start writing and recording music, we’ll look at some of the shortcuts we can use, which include creating plug-in chains, creating project templates and setting up in/out templates. But how often have you had inspiration suddenly strike yet have to go through the repetitive process of assigning inputs to the right channels, loading up a range of soft synths ready for your project, then loading up the same set of plug-ins for the same instruments over and over? To save myself a bit of time I was simply copying and pasting track presets to allow the project to be tracked quickly and then adjusting them later during the mix stage. Over the last few weeks I have been creating vocal arrangements that needed to have a very specific number of parts, so I couldn’t go beyond a certain number of tracks and I was recording all of the parts to these tracks separately via one input channel.
